As a member of the Marketing team the Marketing Strategist will be a critical player in developing, coordinating and executing marketing initiatives to drive business growth. He*she will be responsible for developing a strong customer and market intimacy by staying in close contact with the account management function and retailers. In addition, he*she must be able to connect customer needs, market trends and competitive activities with a commercial focus to identify opportunities for growth.
This individual will be responsible for : • Interpreting customer, competitor, market and historical information to provide strategic advice and recommendations for future marketing activity. • Production of tactical plans*timelines for retailers to increase penetration of products and services and positively impact revenue and earnings. • Reviewing post event marketing activity analysis in order to determine performance against objectives, explain trends and identify future opportunities. • Presenting information and strategic advice to the retailers and being able to influence their decisions around future activity to drive positive benefits for both parties • Developing a rounded view of the customer relationship through review of all information sources allowing strategic recommendations to be made throughout the customer relationship. • Liaising with the Marketing Analysis team to understand the metrics used to measure performance along with market variables to help explain trends, variances and opportunities to impact growth. • Developing a strong consultative relationship between the account management team, their clients and the marketing team. • Continuously seeking ways to improve business-wide knowledge and understanding of our clients` customer segments and identifying opportunities to accelerate profitable revenue growth.
Core Skills
Essential • 2-3 years Marketing and commercial experience • Gained or studying towards a business related or marketing qualification • Proven experience of planning marketing activities • Proven experience of converting data into knowledge and presenting findings and implications to senior management
Desirable • Experience of retail or financial services environment • Experience in planning and executing direct mail campaigns
